Viewing Day Shift (vampire movie)

Jamie Foxxand Dave Franco star in the vampire hunting movie "Day Shift". The movie tells the story of a blue collar dad trying to provide a better life for his young daughter. However, his routine job in San Fernando Valley pool cleaning is a disguise for his true income, hunting down and killing vampires as part of an International Union of Viper Hunters.

The premise sounds exciting, but can J.J. Perry deliver on it?

Jamie Foxx shoots at an old lady who turns up to be a vamp in the opening scene of Day Shift. This leads to a hilarious fight between the two of them. This movie has a great deal of fun with rag-doll action scenes. It makes those scenes pop in a different way than many of the action blockbusters or Netflix movies. When you watch a scene like this, it is easy to remember the old saying "action speaks louder that words", and while I agree with the statement, I think the key to "Day Shift's" success is the way it uses dialogue and action to develop the characters and further the plot. Jamie Foxx's character kills the vampire. He then has a funny, dry conversation with his partner about how he believed she would become a bat or other animal. Moments like these are what elevate "Day Shift," above similar movies.

Day Shift may be the worst movie ever made. It is obvious what they wanted to do but they failed (vampire movies) so badly. It is lacking in acting ability, dialogue, and plot. But somehow, I found myself enjoying it. It could be that I am a sucker of vampire movies, or it could just be that I love watching bad movies. Day Shift was great. Although it's not a great film, it's still a lot fun. This is all I expect from a movie like that.

Day Shift was mixed. While there were some good action scenes, and some interesting characters (the two brothers, Seth), the villain was terrible, and there were a lot mediocre characters. I suppose that helps the more talented characters shine. There appeared to be scenes missing from the film. Bud's neighbor acts almost like they're close friends, even though only three minutes were available before the last scene. Bud making prank calls at the gas station while he was working at his job is the best part. It was hilarious. I loved it. Then, however, the movie went on and the movie was far less enjoyable. Day Shift is mixed. There are some great parts and some terrible parts. You could find a better movie if you are looking for some laughs.

Snoop Dogg was almost forgotten about. He's great in Day Shift. He makes the entire movie worth your time. His character is funny, and he can deliver some amazing lines. More than that, he is just so naturally in the role. It's like he was born to play it.
